A Branded Ice Cream Giveaway for Deep East Music at MediaCityUK
A van in the company's colours, branded wafers, and almost twice as many people served as planned.
London-based independent media company Deep East Music wanted to build a presence in the North, and chose an ice cream giveaway to get noticed. They hired one of our vans for the day and we decorated it in their company colours and logo, then made branded wafers to go on every ice cream.
Their team picked the spot: the main plaza at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, one of the country's leading business hubs and somewhere we know well. We set up alongside four Deep East Music reps and handed out free ice cream to anyone passing, while the team promoted the giveaway on social media and the company's logo ran on the plaza's giant LED screen.
It was warm and sunny, and before long there were long queues of office workers. We ended up serving almost twice as many people as originally estimated. We always come well stocked, so nobody went without.
For a brand activation, the van does the job of a stand, a crowd-puller and a giveaway at once, and branded wafers mean your logo goes home in every photo.
