Warburtons' Centenary Family Day in Bolton
Two vans, around 1,000 guests and a 99 for the chairman at Britain's best-known bakery's 100th birthday.

When Warburtons turned 100, they celebrated where the company began: at their Bolton bakery, with a family day for staff, friends and relatives. Around 1,000 people came through on a sunny Saturday in July, with plant tours, games and a line-up of vintage Warburtons delivery vans.
With that many guests, one van would have meant long queues, so Warburtons booked two. Alongside the classic Mr Whippy we brought a range of specials, and the sherbet-dipped and marshmallow-topped cones ended up being the most requested treats of the day.
Late in the afternoon the company chairman, Jonathan Warburton, came over for a 99, and took a Twister back for his wife.
