A Head Teacher's Send-Off at St Stephen's Primary, Bury
A retiring head teacher served all 250 pupils herself, in January, the day after it snowed.
When the head teacher of St Stephen's CofE Primary in Bury retired, she wanted a goodbye her pupils would remember, so she booked an ice cream van in the middle of January.
It had snowed the day before, but the sun came out. We showed her the ropes and she served around 250 pupils and staff herself, class by class, with a photo of each class in front of the van.
She finished with a couple of laps of the playground, chimes playing. School events don't need a heatwave to work.
